Where and how we raise our puppies

This is our home where we raise our puppies. We are not a kennel, we are a family whose passion is raising and training our puppies to be ready to adjust effortlessly into their forever homes.

My wife painted the walls in the nursery. The nursery get sanitized, swept, and cleaned after every meal. Currently, we are feeding and caring for two litters. So that makes 8 times a day!

This is where the puppies are born. It is the corner of our dining room. They live there until we graduate them to the puppy nursery downstairs.

This is where we love to sit and watch our puppies get fresh air, adjust to new surfaces in and around our yard. This is also where they are introduced to children, adults and other families with animals. We also live near an airport so the puppies are getting use to loud noises, because we have planes fly over the house. I am currently reading “Puppy Brain” and am excited about incorporating even more stimulation to our puppies. These 8 weeks we have them are so very important. We consider it a blessing to form the foundation of creating a well rounded, smart, sound puppy!

Our goal and job is to do everything we can to make sure our puppies adjust to their new families. We also introduce different textures.

I can not stand dirty toys. I feel it makes the dogs look dirty and my house. I add laundry detergent, vinegar and dawn dish soap.

We will have your puppy well on its way to housebreaking. We are old school and leave newspaper around the puppies so they start knowing where to go to the bathroom. When you take your puppy home we suggest you take some newspaper and place it front of the door you will be taking your puppy in and out to go potty. Then take the paper and place the paper outside so the puppy begins to understand what you want them to do. Be patient with this. Please never hit your puppy because you will be doing irrevocable harm to their little spirits and you will have a frightened, stressed out puppy who will grow into a frightened, stressed out adult dog.

We live in a Beautiful neighborhood. Our family loves being outside. In warmer weather, we sit on our front porch and take our puppies outside. While out front, they see dogs walking past them. Also, they hear airplane sounds, car horns, see babies in strollers, old people walking and kids on bikes. Inside classical music is played, children’s music is played. I am big on playing thunder and lightening sounds on Alexa as well as fireworks! We do our best to prepare them for their new families and life outside our home.

Tunnel Time! They absolutely love this tunnel. They often times will sleep in it and jump on it!

The day after Gotcha Day, we place calls to all our new puppy owners and check in with how each puppy did in their new homes. Everyone tells us the puppies did great in the crate the first night. This is very important to us. We crate the puppies by week 6 so they adjust more quickly to their new environments.

We will also give you a starter bag of the food the puppies are eating and a toy or blanket that their littermates have all had their scent on to make it an easier transition into their forever families. We also provide some type of clothe to help the puppy. This will look dirty, and it should!

Our puppies are always handled from day one. But now I have done more research on what else I can do. I came upon a technique that the US Army has used in training their Canines. You can find it on the Tab Super Dog. This is me doing their daily Q-tip tickles I call it! This starts from day 3 and ends at day 21.
